ABOUT TIPES
Thinking in Pictures Educational Services (TIPES) is a non-profit educational and therapeutic service that provides support to children, teens and young adults who have pervasive developmental disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorders and related/additional exceptionalities. TIPES is a professional service that provides affordable ABA therapy, social integration, family relief and tutoring services, and training courses for parents and professionals.
Autism Spectrum Disorders and exceptionalities are broadly defined terms but may be thought of generally as atypical development of a child, teen or young adult’s adaptive behavioural, cognitive, emotional and social skills. For more information regarding definitions of both terms, please refer to the relevant Ontario Ministry of Education guide (Ontario Ministry of Education. (2001). TIPES was founded in 2007 by sisters Jennifer and Deborah Wyatt. Their vision was to provide services to families with children and young adults with Autism and additional exceptionalities as economically as possible. Since its inception, TIPES has experienced exponential growth and has enjoyed recognition from the local community for its good work.
