Thinking in Pictures Educational Services is a non-profit educational and therapeutic service that provides support to children and youth, aged 2-18 years, who have PDD (eg. Autism) and related or additional exceptionalities. Thinking in Pictures Educational Services is a professional service that provides affordable ABA therapy, social integration, family relief services, and training courses for parents and professionals.

Our mission is to teach children and youth with PDD (eg. Autism) and other exceptionalities to reach their potential in a positive, learning environment by using a team based approach, individualized program planning and recreational activities.

Social Integration Group Programs: Saturday Afternoon Teen Group (Ages 10-18)

Welcome to the TIPES Social Integration Group Programs:

Saturday Afternoon Teen Group (Ages 10-18)
This group-based program is designed for teens diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other exceptionalities. The emphasis of this program is on teaching social skills through the use of direct lessons, group discussions, games, activities, and exposure to a variety of peers.

TIPES Social Integration Group Programs: Clever Caterpillars Kinder Program (ages 5-6)

Welcome to the TIPES Social Integration Group Programs:

Clever Caterpillars Kinder Program (ages 5-6)

This group-based program is developed for young school-aged children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or other exceptionalites and is designed to complement the school environment. Emphasis is placed on independence, social skills, language, fine and gross motor movement, reading and writing, and other classroom-based skills.

This program is based on the principles of ABA, and provides additional support for integrating into the school system.

To qualify for this program, the following are required:
• Most current psychological assessment/diagnosis
• TIPES registration forms
• A placement assessment completed by a TIPES Senior Therapist, which includes a 1-hour parent interview, a 2-hour observation in a social environment your child currently engages in (such as daycare)

Program dates for 2012 are as follows:

Busy Bees Preschool Program (ages 3-4)

This group-based program is developed for young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or other exceptionalities and is designed to promote independence, social skills, language, fine and gross motor movement, pre-reading/writing, and other school-readiness skills.

This program is based on the principles of ABA, and is aimed to help your child maximize their potential in a variety of social environments (such as school, daycare, playgroups, etc.).

To qualify for this program, the following are required:
• Most current psychological assessment/diagnosis
• TIPES registration forms
• A placement assessment completed by a TIPES Senior Therapist, which includes a 1-hour parent interview, a 2-hour observation in a social environment your child currently engages in (such as daycare)

The Kanata Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament for TIPES

TIPES would like to thank the Kanata Chamber of Commerce for their amazing support at the Golf tournament. The Kanata Chamber made a donation of $4912.50 to TIPES. The cheque was presented to TIPES on May 17th at the Non profit breakfast. Deborah and Jennifer would like to personally thank the community for their overwhelming support.


Autism Awareness at Carlingwood Mall

TIPES was at Carlingwood Mall over the Easter weekend. The purpose was to increase Autism Awareness and to fundraise for TIPES.
TIPES would like to thank all the volunteers that helped make the weekend a huge succcess. TIPES was able to raise $1000 to be used towards therapy.
